Head of Home (Registered Manager) – Residential Childcare

About the role

We are looking for a Registered Manager to lead a dedicated team in a residential home for young people in Swinton. The role combines full management responsibility with hands‑on involvement in the care and development of service users.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise staff to ensure high‑quality outcomes for young people.
• Develop and adapt services to meet the needs of children, families and the wider community.
• Manage budgets, resources and recruitment, ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted registration, Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding frameworks.
• Oversee risk assessments for new admissions and monitor individual care plans.

Required profile

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Minimum two years recent experience in residential childcare.
• At least one year in a supervisory or managerial role within a care setting.
• Proven ability to deliver effective outcomes in a complex service environment.
• Extensive experience working with complex young people and families.
