Head of HR

About the role

The Head of HR will lead the people agenda for a prestigious family‑owned luxury retail brand. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the family owners and Executive Leadership Team, you will shape strategy, drive organisational change and ensure the business attracts and retains top talent.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted adviser to the Managing Director, family owners and Executive Leadership Team.
• Develop and deliver a commercially focused people strategy.
• Provide a visible, approachable HR presence across the organisation.
• Coach and challenge senior leaders on performance, people and organisational matters.
• Lead organisational change, restructures and transformation projects.
• Manage complex employee relations issues and provide expert UK employment law guidance.
• Own recruitment end‑to‑end, ensuring the right talent is attracted and hired.
• Review and evolve HR policies, processes and ways of working.
• Use people insight and data to support commercial decision‑making.
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle from attraction through exit.
• Build and develop the HR function for future growth.

Required profile

• Current experience at Head of HR, senior HR Manager or HR Director level.
• Proven credibility partnering with business owners and executive teams.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and relationship‑focused.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
• Strong understanding of UK employment law and complex ER matters.
• Experience leading organisational change and transformation.
