Head of Human Resources – £55,000 per annum

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Head of Human Resources to lead our HR function. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will combine strategic people initiatives with day‑to‑day operational support, ensuring a professional, efficient and compliant HR service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the HR team to deliver a high‑quality, customer‑focused service.
• Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, performance management and organisational objectives.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation, safeguarding and safer recruitment practices.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits and HR data management.
• Develop and deliver learning, development and induction programmes.
• Manage departmental budgets and produce HR metrics and reports.
• Lead HR projects and change initiatives, promoting an inclusive, high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Graduate calibre with CIPD Chartered Membership.
• Proven senior HR management experience in a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience leading and developing HR teams and managing budgets.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and safer recruitment.
