Head of Information Security & IT Risk

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Information Security & IT Risk to lead the security and risk function for a financial services client in London. The role will shape the overall security strategy, protect critical assets, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop and execute the organisation’s information security and IT risk management strategy.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration and operation of security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection and zero‑trust solutions.
• Lead, mentor and grow a high‑performing security team in a complex, regulated environment.
• Identify, assess and mitigate information security risks across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with business units to embed security controls into projects and processes.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in information security and IT risk management, preferably within financial services or other regulated sectors.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing security teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
