Head of Insurance Risk - needs pricing experience

About the role

This senior position leads the insurance risk function for a large, complex organisation. You will shape the risk framework, provide independent challenge across pricing, underwriting, reserving and reinsurance, and support senior leadership with strategic insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee the insurance risk framework and governance.
• Challenge and influence pricing, underwriting, reserving and reinsurance decisions.
• Provide risk‑based insights to senior executives and regulators.
• Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to embed risk in financial models and business strategy.
• Lead a team of three direct reports and drive cross‑functional initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified actuary with deep pricing experience.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior executives and regulators.
• Commercial mindset linking risk to performance and growth.
• Background in insurance or consultancy and a proven record of leading complex, cross‑functional projects.
