Head of IT and Learning Technologies

About the role

The Head of IT and Learning Technologies will lead all IT services at Bradford College, ensuring a high‑quality digital estate for staff and students. This senior position reports to the Senior Leadership Team and contributes to the College’s strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College vision for an outstanding digital service aligned with the strategic plan.
• Advise senior leadership on digital objectives, emerging technologies, opportunities and threats.
• Develop and maintain industry‑standard cyber security plans.
• Support curriculum delivery and service areas through digital strategy and business plans.
• Collaborate with the Head of Learning, Development & Innovation to promote digital pedagogy and innovation in teaching, learning and assessment.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date departmental risk register and ensure procedures are current.
• Deliver departmental budget and monitor resource requirements for IT infrastructure.
• Lead and manage the performance of the IT team, fostering collaboration with academic and support staff.

Required profile

• Relevant IT/Cyber Security qualification.
• GCSE 4–9 (or willingness to achieve) in Maths.
• GCSE 4–9 (or willingness to achieve) in English.
• Line‑management experience in a technical environment.
• Significant experience working in an IT environment.
• Detailed knowledge of current cyber security threats and mitigations.
• Broad technical skills across infrastructure, network and security technologies.
