Head of IT Infrastructure

About the role

Lead the technology services that keep care homes connected, secure and supported every day. This senior position is responsible for the strategic oversight of IT infrastructure, support services and managed service provider governance across a large, multi‑site care home organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery and governance of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and support services.
• Oversee a hybrid in‑house and outsourced operating model, acting as service owner for network, cloud, cyber security and technical support.
• Monitor service performance, manage contractual governance and ensure service‑level compliance.
• Oversee identity and access governance, disaster recovery, business continuity planning and major incident management.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance and senior business leaders to drive service improvements and manage supplier relationships.
• Contribute to the long‑term technology strategy and ensure alignment of major projects with organisational priorities.
• Provide leadership and support to internal IT support teams and colleagues across care homes and central functions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in IT infrastructure within a large, multi‑site environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and govern outsourced service providers and MSP contracts.
• Strong understanding of cyber‑resilience, regulatory compliance and business continuity.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with senior business leaders and external suppliers.
• Strategic thinker capable of shaping long‑term technology direction.
