Head of IT – Multi‑Site Operations

About the role

Butler Rose is seeking a Head of IT to lead the operational delivery of technology services across its multi‑site organisation in Cumbria. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will own the day‑to‑day management, performance and development of the IT function, supporting the company’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day IT operations across multiple locations.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of three IT professionals.
• Ensure availability, performance and security of infrastructure, systems and networks.
• Oversee IT support services and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Manage relationships with external suppliers and third‑party providers.
• Lead IT procurement activities to achieve value for money.
• Support cyber‑security initiatives, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Monitor performance and drive service improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align IT delivery with business requirements.
• Assist with budget management and IT expenditure planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT operations in a multi‑site environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure, security and service delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365).
• Network infrastructure design and management.
