Head of Latent Defects

About the role

Our client, a leading loss adjusting practice, is establishing a new Latent Defects Unit. The Head of Latent Defects will lead this unit from anywhere in the UK, building a high‑performing team with full financial backing from the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch the Latent Defects Unit, defining strategy and operational processes.
• Recruit, mentor and manage a specialist team to deliver early success.
• Collaborate with existing client portfolios to integrate latent defect services.
• Monitor financial performance, ensuring profitability and compliance.
• Represent the unit in senior stakeholder meetings and industry forums.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in loss adjusting, specifically within latent defects.
• Proven ability to work autonomously while delivering results.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
• Motivation to drive change and implement personal ideas.
