Head of Logistics & Operations

About the role

Matchtech, a market‑leading FMCG/retail business, is seeking a Head of Logistics & Operations to own end‑to‑end fulfilment, warehouse and logistics performance across multiple channels. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will drive operational excellence, develop talent and support the company’s growth agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all warehouse, fulfilment, inventory and logistics activities, meeting service, cost, quality and safety targets.
• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business growth and customer needs.
• Oversee inbound, storage, picking, packing and outbound processes while improving productivity.
• Monitor and improve KPIs such as OTIF, inventory accuracy, productivity, service levels and cost performance.
• Manage carrier relationships, contract negotiations, tender processes and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with third‑party logistics providers to ensure contractual service levels and continuous improvement.
• Drive Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and resilience.

Required profile

• Proven senior operational leadership experience in distribution, logistics or fulfilment.
• Full accountability for site performance, service, cost and people management.
• Strong background in warehouse, fulfilment and 3PL management.
• Demonstrated success in supplier and carrier management.
• Ability to lead a team of ~35 staff, including six direct reports.
