Head of Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Manufacturing to lead our production operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the highest standards of food safety. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on floor leadership in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end manufacturing operations, from planning through execution.
• Translate demand into accurate production plans using digital systems.
• Provide hands‑on floor support and act as escalation point for operational issues.
• Coordinate courier and dispatch activities, including peak‑period planning.
• Oversee preventative maintenance to maximise machinery uptime.
• Maintain stock accuracy, inventory control and cross‑team collaboration.
• Drive workflow improvements, system optimisation and data visibility.
• Lead, coach and develop the manufacturing team.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP and related standards.
• Track KPIs, reduce waste and manage continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in food manufacturing or a similarly fast‑moving environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Confidence using digital production systems.
• Collaborative, commercially aware mindset.
• Hands‑on leadership style suited to a small, agile team.
• Bonus experience with scaling, lean methodologies or short‑shelf‑life categories.
