Head of Operations

About the role

Our client is a fast‑growing, mission‑led organisation that provides one‑to‑one support services to learners across the UK, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As Head of Operations you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of core operational functions, ensuring safe, consistent and high‑quality service at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve safeguarding policies, compliance processes and organisational culture.
• Act as the senior accountable lead for safeguarding, overseeing vetting, DBS checks, training, audits and incident management.
• Direct the full recruitment and onboarding lifecycle, building a strong talent pipeline across subject areas and regions.
• Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies using LinkedIn, job boards and referral networks.
• Monitor and optimise recruitment metrics such as time‑to‑fill, conversion rates and onboarding lead times.
• Define and implement consistent quality standards for service delivery, tracking performance through NPS, retention and outcome data.
• Build, lead and develop high‑performing recruitment, onboarding and operations teams.

Required profile

• Senior‑level leader with a commercial mindset and hands‑on operational experience.
• Proven ability to design scalable processes and embed a culture of excellence.
• Strong track record in safeguarding, compliance and quality assurance within education or care sectors.
• Experience managing recruitment, talent acquisition and onboarding at scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management and team‑building skills.
