Head of Operations

About the role

Reed is seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead the delivery of large‑scale events across the UK and Europe. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will shape operational standards, drive continuous improvement, and ensure flawless execution of high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the Operations team.
• Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of major events, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
• Review, redesign and implement operational processes to boost efficiency and consistency.
• Establish operational KPIs, standards and best‑practice frameworks.
• Manage budgets, supplier contracts, staffing schedules and resource planning.
• Maintain compliance with health & safety, quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate logistical planning and produce operational documentation.
• Support international event delivery, including annual travel to Europe.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior operations role, preferably within large‑scale events or similar sectors.
• Strong people‑leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a team.
• Demonstrated success in improving or redesigning operational processes.
• Calm, solutions‑focused approach with excellent decision‑making abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Required skills

• Confidence working with CRM systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
