Head of Pensions Solicitor – Birmingham

About the role

The firm is seeking an experienced Pensions Solicitor to lead its Birmingham pensions practice. This senior position offers the autonomy to shape a well‑established offering while collaborating with nationally recognised specialists across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Birmingham pensions team, setting strategic direction.
• Provide advice on scheme governance, benefit redesign, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions and de‑risking exercises.
• Work closely with corporate, employment, banking and real‑estate colleagues to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and nurture client relationships, generate new business and mentor junior lawyers.
• Contribute to the firm’s national pensions strategy and thought leadership.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with extensive pensions experience in a regional, national or international law firm.
• Strong commercial awareness and a proven track record of delivering pragmatic advice.
• Experience leading teams, managing client relationships and driving business development.
