About the role

The school is seeking a dynamic Head of Performing Arts to lead its vibrant Drama, Music, Dance and PE faculty. This senior teaching leader will shape the department’s vision, raise standards and inspire both staff and students across Haringey, North London.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop the Performing Arts team, including teachers of Drama, Music, Dance and Physical Education.
• Drive curriculum innovation and ensure strong progress 8 scores and attainment across all subjects.
• Promote a culture of creativity, inclusion and high expectations throughout the school.
• Oversee budgeting, timetabling and resource allocation for the department.
• Lead staff appraisal, professional development and recruitment of new talent.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in Drama or Music (specialism preferred).
• Current or aspiring leader with a proven track record of improving student outcomes.
• Commitment to the school’s ethos of respect, inclusion and community engagement.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a mixed team of experienced and newly qualified staff.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic planning and curriculum development experience.
