Head of QSHE

About the role

We are seeking a strategic Head of QSHE to lead quality, safety, health and environmental initiatives across our facilities management business. Reporting to the Executive team, you will shape the safety culture, ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement across more than 4,000 sites.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the corporate QSHE strategy and set its strategic direction.
• Maintain and improve ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Own the health & safety framework, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation.
• Lead internal audits, site inspections and external certification audits.
• Chair the Risk Committee and manage the corporate risk register.
• Oversee incident investigations, lessons‑learned processes and continuous improvement actions.
• Drive environmental compliance and support ESG commitments.
• Develop QSHE training and competency frameworks.
• Provide performance reporting to the Executive Board.
• Represent the organisation with clients, regulators and certification bodies.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing QSHE team.

Required profile

• Significant senior QSHE or Health & Safety leadership experience in a large, multi‑site organisation.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Proven track record managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
• Experience in senior‑level risk management and corporate governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at Executive level.
• Passion for developing people and embedding a positive safety culture.
