Head of Quantitative Trading

About the role

Our client is an international B2B sportsbook technology company with R&D in Bulgaria, serving operators across Europe and Latin America. They are entering a transformation phase to strengthen product foundations, AI and automation, and need a leader to build market‑leading pricing and risk models.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead quantitative trading capability for in‑play and pre‑match pricing, risk and liability modelling, and trading automation.
• Own the models behind product features such as bet builder, same‑game pricing, cash‑out valuation, personalisation and market availability.
• Define the automation sequence with the VP R&D Trading and Chief Trading Officer, selecting markets, sports and processes to automate first and setting evidence gates.
• Ensure model quality against baseline metrics (margin, hold, price accuracy, market availability) and drive continuous improvement.
• Work closely with R&D trading teams and the AI core to productionise models, strengthen the data platform and transition human traders to model supervisors.

Required profile

• Proven leader who has built or run automated pricing and risk models at scale, preferably in sportsbook or high‑frequency trading environments.
• Deep quantitative expertise in statistics, machine learning and stochastic modelling with strong hands‑on modelling ability.
• Experience moving pricing models from research to live production, including managing operational and cultural changes.
• Rigorous measurement mindset, able to validate model performance before deployment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with traders, quantitative specialists and engineers.
