Head of Sales – Pet Specialty

About the role

The Head of Sales – Pet Specialty will lead the specialist pet channel for a fast‑growing organisation in the pet sector. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will own strategy, team performance and customer relationships while working primarily remotely with occasional office visits.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the specialist pet channel strategy to drive profitable growth.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing commercial team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key specialist customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and act on opportunities to improve profitability, distribution and overall performance.
• Drive accountability, engagement and a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain and Senior Leadership on commercial initiatives.
• Lead pricing, ranging and process‑improvement projects.
• Support succession planning and future talent development.

Required profile

• Proven experience within the pet industry.
• Background in national account management, channel management or commercial leadership.
• Previous people‑leadership experience with a collaborative style.
• Strong commercial and strategic capability.
• Ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Track record of delivering sustainable growth.
