Head of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs – EMEA

About the role

The Head of Global Scientific and Regulatory Affairs (GSRA) for the EMEA region will lead the scientific and regulatory function across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Reporting to the Vice President in New Jersey, this senior leader will shape regulatory strategy, ensure compliance and partner with innovation teams to bring new ingredient solutions to market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the SRA function in EMEA, providing team leadership, mentorship and cross‑collaboration with internal partners.
• Develop and implement regulatory strategies, anticipate legislative changes and ensure product compliance across the portfolio.
• Partner with innovation leaders to support product development and align business objectives with regulatory requirements.
• Engage with customers, regulatory authorities and industry associations to influence policy, secure market access and communicate compliance guidance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10+ years of regulatory affairs experience in the food industry.
• Degree (Bachelors, Masters or PhD) in Food Science, Food Law/Policy, Biological Sciences or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of EU food legislation, novel foods, additives, labeling, nutrition and health claims, and Codex standards.
• Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in interpreting EU and post‑Brexit UK food regulatory frameworks.
• Understanding of REACH chemical regulations (desirable).
