Head of Technology

About the role

Proctor + Stevenson is looking for a Head of Technology to lead its technology team in Bristol. The role sets the strategic vision, ensures delivery of secure and scalable solutions for clients, and oversees internal IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multi‑disciplinary technology team, ensuring the right resources are in place for client projects.
• Define and maintain the technology roadmap, driving value‑added initiatives and optimisation of the tech stack.
• Oversee internal IT infrastructure, cloud platforms and business‑critical systems, including compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR and cybersecurity best practices.
• Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and service partners in collaboration with the Director of Digital Strategy and Innovation.
• Act as the escalation point for technical issues and ensure robust technology standards, governance frameworks and best practices.
• Collaborate with directors and the business development lead on new business tenders and pitches.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading software development and technology teams within an agency environment.
• Strong knowledge of modern web technologies, cloud platforms and software development methodologies.
• Proven stakeholder‑management skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in plain language.
• Experience with ISO 27001, CyberEssentials and a track record of process improvement and automation.
• Pragmatic, solution‑oriented leadership style with a commercial focus on measurable outcomes.
