Head of Training Delivery - Frontline Services

About the role

The Head of Training Delivery for Frontline Services will provide strategic leadership for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) operational learning programmes. You will shape training for Driving Examiners, Enforcement Officers and Vehicle Assessors, ensuring it aligns with customer needs and government priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of frontline training programmes across multiple locations.
• Collaborate with HR Business Partners, strategic workforce planners and other People Directorate colleagues to align learning with organisational priorities.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training solutions are customer‑focused and meet civil service frameworks.
• Manage and develop professional teams, providing direction, guidance and performance oversight.
• Interpret Department for Transport and DVSA priorities to translate them into actionable learning initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in learning and development or training delivery.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Understanding of civil service policies and public‑sector workforce development.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building capabilities.
