Headteacher – SEN School (Therapeutic Approach)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Headteacher to lead a specialist SEN school that uses a therapeutic approach to education. You will shape the school’s growth, inspire staff, and ensure every child receives a safe, supportive environment where they can develop communication skills and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the school’s strategic planning and future growth initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with business functions such as HR, Finance and external support services.
• Oversee the delivery of a therapeutic curriculum that meets the individual needs of each child.
• Mentor and develop the senior leadership team and wider staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the Executive Head and trust leadership to share ideas and drive school-wide improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified Headteacher with proven SEN experience.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
• Track record of successful school leadership and strategic planning.
• Experience working with strategic partners and third‑party organisations.
