Health and Safety Advisor

About the role

The Health and Safety Advisor will be based at a key RAF operational base, supporting high‑profile defence programmes such as the P‑8A Poseidon and the upcoming E‑7 Wedgetail. You will act as the primary point of contact for health and safety, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for military personnel, civilian staff and industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day health and safety advice and guidance to all base users.
• Maintain compliance with MOD and UK health and safety legislation.
• Support the delivery of the P‑8A Poseidon and E‑7 Wedgetail programmes, managing risks associated with expanding staff numbers.
• Collaborate with Air Base colleagues and the Delivery Team to embed safe working practices.
• Lead incident investigations, reporting and corrective action implementation.
• Develop and deliver safety training and awareness sessions.

Required profile

• UK national (sole citizenship) with no dual nationality.
• Must have lived in the UK for the previous five years.
• Ability to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications and experience in a complex technical environment.
