Health and Safety Manager – Great Training & Autonomy

About the role

We are seeking a NEBOSH‑qualified professional to take ownership of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) function for a fast‑growing specialist building contractor. The role offers a blend of office‑based strategic work and site‑based auditing, with a clear pathway to a full Health and Safety Manager position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain health, safety and quality processes across commercial and industrial projects.
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections, identifying and resolving HSE issues.
• Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and internal standards.
• Manage risk assessments and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.
• Promote a strong safety culture among staff and subcontractors.

Required profile

• NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and proven experience in a health and safety role.
• Full UK driver’s licence.
• Motivated to make meaningful changes within an SME environment.
