Health and Social Care Assessor – Portsmouth

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Health and Social Care Assessor to work across Portsmouth and surrounding areas. The role is home/field based, allowing you to conduct both remote and face‑to‑face assessments for learners pursuing health and social care apprenticeships.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and support learners undertaking Level 3 or Level 5 Health and Social Care Apprenticeships.
• Deliver Functional Skills training in Maths and English to Level 2.
• Plan and manage a diary to ensure timely visits, reviews, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and produce required paperwork.
• Motivate, advise and overcome barriers for learners, adapting delivery to individual needs.
• Meet KPI targets for visit frequency, paperwork quality and overall administration.

Required profile

• Hold a recognised Assessor award (D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA).
• Proven experience delivering Health and Social Care Apprenticeships (Frameworks or Standards).
• Occupational competency in Health and Social Care (Elderly).
• Confidence delivering Functional Skills Maths and English.
• Willingness to conduct online remote assessments and face‑to‑face sessions.
• Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Flexibility to travel within the region.

What we offer

• Permanent, full‑time contract.
• Salary range £27,000 – £33,000 per year, dependent on role level.
• Performance‑related bonus.
