Health & Safety Advisor (Interim) – Brighton

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Advisor on an interim basis for up to four months in the Brighton area. The role ensures compliance with UK health and safety legislation, conducts audits and risk assessments, and supports managers in maintaining a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out workplace inspections and health & safety audits.
• Conduct and review risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with current UK health & safety legislation.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Support managers with policy implementation and best practice.
• Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.

Required profile

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, Officer, or Coordinator.
• Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
• Full UK driving licence.
