Health & Safety Advisor

About the role

The Health & Safety Advisor will join a dynamic team on the outskirts of Horsham, supporting the H&S Manager in maintaining safe, compliant workplaces. This office‑based position involves developing and monitoring practical safety systems across both factory and office environments.

Key responsibilities

• Stay up‑to‑date with UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
• Produce, review and update risk assessments, COSHH assessments and fire risk assessments for buildings and events.
• Assist in designing and implementing risk control measures.
• Deliver H&S inductions, toolbox talks and practical training to mixed workforces.
• Maintain H&S records, performance data and manage the online accident‑reporting system.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, gathering information and producing clear written reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role, preferably within engineering or manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct risk, COSHH and fire assessments with accurate documentation.
• Experience delivering inductions and training to both factory and office staff.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £45,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Standard office hours 8:30‑17:30, Monday‑Friday.
• Location in Partridge Green, Horsham with requirement for own transport.
