Health & Safety CDM Consultant – Construction

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Health & Safety CDM Consultant to join our construction consultancy. You will advise clients on H&S and CDM regulations and act as Principal Designer throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Principal Designer and fulfil CDM 2015 client duties.
• Plan, coordinate and manage the pre‑construction phase, including F10 notifications.
• Advise clients and project teams on health and safety and design risk management.
• Ensure design team compliance with CDM 2015 and review Design Risk Assessments.
• Prepare and review health and safety documentation such as pre‑construction information, risk assessments, method statements and Health & Safety Files.
• Conduct CDM site audits, monitor performance and attend design, site and progress meetings.
• Support Senior Consultants on complex projects and review O&M manuals for compliant handover.
• Uphold health and safety standards and support environmental and social impact initiatives.

Required profile

• IOSH/Association for Project Safety qualification or working towards it.
• Previous experience in a similar H&S/CDM role.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 implementation and health and safety legislation.
• Proven ability to use risk registers and risk‑modelling software.
• Excellent client‑facing communication and documentation skills.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities for handling multiple projects.
