Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor – Nuclear Projects

About the role

The Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor will support the Project Health, Safety and Environmental Manager on the Hinkley Point C nuclear construction site. You will be responsible for monitoring compliance, reporting performance and driving continuous improvement across occupational health, safety and environmental matters.

Key responsibilities

• Report on health, safety and environmental performance to the Project HSE Manager and produce required reports.
• Support site supervision and subcontractors in occupational health, safety and environmental matters, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and client standards.
• Review method statements and risk assessments, monitor subcontractor activities against approved documents.
• Attend daily HSE meetings, conduct investigations of accidents or near‑misses, and carry out on‑site workplace inspections.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years’ experience as an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor, preferably in construction or nuclear projects.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills; fluent English (native level).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
• NEBOSH National Construction Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
