Health Visitor – Berwickshire

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Health Visitor to join the NHS Borders Health Visiting Team in the Berwickshire area, based at Eyemouth Health Centre. The role involves delivering universal and targeted health visiting services to families with children aged 0‑5, supporting early‑year health and wellbeing in line with the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) national practice model.

Key responsibilities

• Provide health visiting assessments and interventions for young children and their families.
• Promote health, wellbeing and public‑health initiatives within the community.
• Offer safeguarding advice and act as a lead professional where required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners including midwives, CAMHS, AHPs and social care.
• Support school readiness and parenting programmes.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold evidence‑based practice standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or Midwife with SCPHN Health Visitor qualification.
• Sound knowledge of the Health Visiting Pathway in Scotland and familiarity with GIRFEC and the National Practice Model.
• Experience in early‑years, family support and community public health.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and assessment abilities.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload independently within a team.
