Healthcare Assistant – Residential Care Support

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join Waterloo Manor Hospital, the UK’s largest female personality‑disorder service. You will support residents with daily living tasks, promote independence and provide a caring presence in a specialised mental‑health environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support residents in developing and maintaining independence.
• Help with meal preparation, medication management and household tasks.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and other professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a support worker or similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate, empathetic and patient‑focused approach.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
