Healthcare Support Worker – Home First (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Home First Service is seeking an experienced Healthcare Support Worker to provide person‑centred care to patients in their own homes across the Tweeddale locality. This fixed‑term position (7 months) covers maternity leave and works alongside a multidisciplinary team of nurses, allied health professionals and social care staff.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care to service users in their homes.
• Collaborate with registered nurses, district nursing, community allied health professionals and adult social care teams.
• Support re‑ablement and self‑management initiatives.
• Provide flexible coverage for other localities (Central, Teviot & Tweeddale) as required.
• Work weekdays and weekends on a rotational basis, covering hours from 08:00 to 20:30.

Required profile

• Current NHS Scotland staff member.
• Motivated, adaptable and able to work without direct supervision.
• Confident decision‑making and strong organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence with appropriate business insurance.
