Heat Network Compliance Consultant

About the role

Insite Energy is seeking a motivated Heat Network Compliance Consultant to support the delivery of metering systems across communal and district heat networks in the UK. The role is field‑based and client‑facing, covering the full lifecycle from early scoping and technical surveys to installation oversight, compliance assurance and system optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical audits of metering systems, assessing accuracy classes and compliance with UK billing regulations.
• Perform scoping and design assessments of heat interface unit layouts, riser structures and plant rooms to define metering solutions.
• Support project planning by providing technical briefs, diagrams and commissioning checks to installation teams.
• Select and specify heat meters, gateways and controllers that meet compliance and integration standards.
• Validate live systems, monitor meter health and coordinate remediation actions.
• Represent Insite Energy during site visits, client consultations and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (BEng/BSc) or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical or building services.
• Proven ability to produce clear technical reports and documentation following onsite surveys.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in client‑facing situations.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.
