HGV Class 2 Driver – £38,000 + Bonus

About the role

We are seeking a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join a well‑established depot in Leighton Buzzard. The role offers a competitive salary of £38,000‑£44,000, a quarterly attendance bonus and overtime opportunities, working a standard 45‑hour week.

Key responsibilities

• Load, secure and deliver goods safely and professionally.
• Complete all required paperwork at collection and delivery points.
• Provide excellent customer service on each visit.
• Perform daily vehicle walk‑arounds and ensure the vehicle remains roadworthy.
• Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, company policies and EU road transport regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum Class 2 HGV licence (clean preferred) with a valid Driver Qualification Card/Driver CPC.
• At least 12 months of HGV driving experience, including 90 days of tachograph‑recorded driving in the last 180 days.
• Positive health‑and‑safety attitude and good knowledge of Driver Hours & WTD regulations.
• Experience of multi‑drop deliveries and familiarity with local routes.

Required skills

• Class 2 HGV licence.
• Driver Qualification Card / Driver CPC.
• ALME certificate (desirable).
• Digi/tacho card.
• Operation of lorry‑mounted loaders (including remote control).
• Forklift truck operation (training provided for the right candidate).
