HGV Class 2 Driver/Loader – Full‑time (Bristol)

About the role

We are looking for an HGV Class 2 Driver/Loader to join our waste and recycling collection team in Bristol. This is a full‑time, physically active position working Monday to Friday, 6:00 am‑2:30 pm, with overtime opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 HGV in line with legal and company standards.
• Collect, load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials across the Bristol area.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks, report defects and tip vehicles at approved facilities.
• Complete paperwork and electronic records using handheld devices.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and present a professional appearance.
• Provide courteous customer service and communicate effectively with colleagues and the public.
• Adapt to different operational locations as required and follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of HGV regulations, Working Time Directive and tachograph rules.
• Experience with daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Comfortable using mobile devices for electronic paperwork.
• Reliable, safety‑conscious and a strong team player.
• Previous waste or recycling collection experience is desirable but not essential.
