HGV Driver (C+E) – Night Shifts, £20.25/hr

About the role

Evoke Staffing Ltd is recruiting HGV 1 drivers to operate large flatbed trucks, delivering goods across various routes. The role is full‑time temporary, working Monday to Friday nights from 18:00 onwards, with a rate of £20.25 per hour plus a night‑out allowance.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV 1 flatbed trucks to deliver goods to multiple destinations while complying with traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Carry out thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Load, secure and balance cargo on flatbed trucks, using appropriate fastening methods for safe transit.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays or on‑road issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs and vehicle inspection reports in line with company policies.
• Present a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, customers and team members during deliveries.

Required profile

• Proven commercial driving experience, preferably as a delivery driver or HGV driver with flatbed operation focus.
• Valid HGV 1 (Class 1) licence with no more than six penalty points for minor offences.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety procedures for large‑vehicle operation.
• Experience in securing and handling flatbed cargo is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of route planning, navigation tools and time‑management skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading, unloading and securing loads efficiently.
