HGV Driver – Full‑time Permanent Role in Gloucester

About the role

DPD is seeking a reliable HGV Driver to join its national transport team in Gloucester. You will operate a modern Class 1 vehicle, moving bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV‑friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachograph systems to follow routes and remain fully compliant.
• Maintain professional relationships with dispatchers and customers.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

Required profile

• Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) licence, CPC card and digital tachograph card.
• Minimum 6 months experience driving Class 1 vehicles.
• Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and a safety‑first mindset.
• Resourceful problem‑solver able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Alignment with DPD values of passion, respect, honesty and flexibility.
