HGV Driver – Waste Management Operations

About the role

Veolia is seeking an experienced HGV driver to join its Marchwood Marine & Waste Management Facility. You will operate a variety of heavy‑goods vehicles to collect and transport hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, supporting essential environmental services for the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Drive skip/Hiab, FEL, RORO and REL vehicles, as well as curtainsider trucks with tail lifts for hazardous waste collections.
• Load, unload and secure 205 L drums, IBCs and other waste containers.
• Assist with crushed‑glass processing at docks or depot.
• Prepare and manage driver paperwork from job start to completion.
• Liaise with internal teams and external disposal sites to arrange waste disposal.
• Attend Southampton Docks on short notice for waste requests from ships.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence with relevant driving experience.
• Current Driver CPC qualification.
• ADR licence for hazardous waste transport.

Required skills

• Operating skip/Hiab equipment.
• Operating FEL, RORO and REL vehicles.
• Handling hazardous waste drums and IBCs safely.
