HGV Refuse Collection Driver – Basingstoke

About the role

Join a team of valued key workers as an HGV Refuse Collection Driver, helping to protect the environment while enjoying a balanced work schedule with pre‑planned routes and set start and finish times.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections, operating all relevant machinery safely.
• Apply safe lifting and handling techniques when removing items.
• Use in‑cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
• Complete paperwork in real time.
• Perform daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles before and after use.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Provide excellent customer service to the public and other road users.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (no more than 6 points).
• Driver CPC certification.
• Willingness to assist refuse loaders to meet service level agreements.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated and ready to undertake tasks.
• Clean driving record.
• Previous relevant experience is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• HGV Class 2 licence.
• Driver CPC.
