HGV Refuse Driver – Waste Collection (Full‑time Temporary)

About the role
Opus People Solutions, on behalf of Brentwood Borough Council, is seeking an experienced HGV Refuse Driver to join the busy waste and recycling department in Brentwood. This full‑time, temporary position involves collecting refuse across designated routes while maintaining health and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in daily waste collections using an HGV.
- Manoeuvre the vehicle safely and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Take responsibility for assigned collection routes and manage the daily crew.
- Report any issues or incidents to the line manager promptly.
Required profile
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Class 2 driving licence.
- Experience driving HGVs in waste collection or similar environments.
- Availability to work Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.

- Hourly rate of £17.78 PAYE.
