HGV Technician Conversion Programme – Edinburgh

About the role

Scania is offering a dedicated conversion programme for technicians from light‑vehicle, plant or agricultural backgrounds to become HGV technicians. Based in Edinburgh, the role combines on‑site mentoring with classroom training at the Scania UK Learning Academy.

Key responsibilities

• Shadow experienced Scania HGV technicians on daily service and repair tasks.
• Participate in six training modules covering product knowledge, maintenance theory and inspection procedures.
• Complete hands‑on work on Scania trucks to develop practical HGV servicing skills.
• Undertake assessments for IRTEC and Scania Roadside Assistance qualifications.

Required profile

• Current experience as a light‑vehicle, plant or agricultural equipment technician.
• Willingness to transition to heavy‑goods‑vehicle maintenance.
• Commitment to the start date of 07/09/2026 and full‑time attendance.
