HGV Yard Shunter

About the role

The Vehicle Movement Team at Cordwallis Heathrow is looking for a dedicated HGV Yard Shunter. You will work in a busy yard environment, preparing vehicles for inspections, handling customer parking needs and performing MOT runs to local DVSA ATF sites. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, with no overnight or late‑night duties.

Key responsibilities

• Move HGVs around the yard to ready them for inspections and customer collection.
• Unblock customers and ensure parking options are available.
• Conduct MOT runs to DVSA ATF sites and manage vehicle deliveries and collections.
• Perform workshop and yard duties such as clearing and tidying during quieter periods.

Required profile

• Hold a valid Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence.
• Minimum 12 months HGV driving experience.
• Good knowledge of tachograph rules and driving hour regulations.

• Understanding of tachograph (tacho) regulations
