High Level Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Supply Register Ltd is looking for a dedicated High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join Tutor Academy in New Addington. This full‑time position starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting Year 1 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within the Early Learning Provision.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored learning activities and interventions for Year 1 pupils with ASD.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons, stepping in to lead the whole class when required.
• Provide personal care, encouraging independence, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.

Required profile

• HLTA qualification (essential).
• Makaton trained (essential).
• Experience supporting children with ASD in an Early Learning Provision.
• Experience providing personal care and working in a specialist SEN setting.
• Confidence in leading a class and supporting lesson planning.

Required skills

• Makaton communication system.
