High Needs Team Leader

About the role

Reed Further Education is looking for an experienced High Needs Team Leader to oversee provision for learners with EHCPs, SEND and additional learning support needs in Leeds. The role combines leadership, case management and quality assurance to ensure inclusive outcomes for a diverse student cohort.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a dedicated team delivering SEND and high‑needs support.
• Oversee assessment, planning, implementation and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Act as primary liaison for parents, carers, curriculum staff and external agencies.
• Handle complex student cases, resolve escalated concerns and ensure safeguarding compliance.
• Monitor service quality, compliance and performance metrics.
• Analyse data, produce reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to policy development and promote inclusive practice across the college.

Required profile

• Significant experience supporting learners with EHCPs and SEND in further education.
• Strong knowledge of current SEND legislation and guidance.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with parents, local authorities and external agencies.
• Leadership and line‑management experience.
• Ability to use data to monitor performance and inform improvement.
• Understanding of safeguarding, quality assurance and resource management.
