High School Science Teacher – Sefton (Merseyside)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic High School Science Teacher to join a Sefton secondary school for the upcoming September term. The role involves delivering engaging, hands‑on science lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing them for GCSE examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver practical experiments and theory lessons in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• Adapt complex scientific concepts for learners of varying abilities.
• Prepare students for GCSEs through targeted revision and past‑paper practice.
• Run safe, well‑organised laboratory sessions with support from technicians.
• Mark assessments, record progress and report against target grades.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS); early‑career teachers and experienced staff are welcome.
• Strong knowledge of the UK secondary science curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
