High School Science Teacher – Wirral

About the role

Join a leading secondary school on the Wirral as a Science Specialist, delivering engaging STEM lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This full‑time, temporary position starts in September and offers a supportive environment for both early‑career teachers and experienced educators.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver practical experiments and theory lessons in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• Simplify complex scientific concepts for learners of all abilities.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations with targeted revision and past‑paper practice.
• Run safe, organised laboratory practicals with assistance from technicians.
• Mark assessments and monitor progress against target grades.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS); ECTs and experienced teachers welcome.
• Strong knowledge of the UK secondary science curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
