Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, Basildon

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive school in Basildon from September. The role offers full‑time classroom support, covering lessons and delivering targeted interventions to improve pupil outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day classroom assistance and cover lessons as required.
• Lead small‑group or whole‑class learning activities in line with the National Curriculum.
• Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils with additional needs.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to plan and implement learning strategies.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a UK school.
• HLTA status or relevant qualifications (desirable).
• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Current safeguarding training (within the last year preferred).
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
