Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, Long‑term, Liverpool

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a Good‑rated primary school in North Liverpool. The role is full‑time and long‑term, starting September 2026 with a trial period, supporting teachers and pupils across the school.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver whole‑class teaching when teachers are on planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time or when short‑term cover is needed.
• Lead and evaluate intervention programmes for small groups or individual pupils.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan resources and support the delivery of the national curriculum.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND, PP, EAL and other under‑achieving groups.
• Uphold and promote the school’s safeguarding policies and Catholic ethos.
• Contribute to the development of school policies, improvement plans and staff training.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience in a similar HLTA role.
• Experience working with pupils who have special educational needs and disabilities.
• Meet the HLTA standards or an equivalent qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check and, if applicable, overseas police clearances.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
