Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Full‑Time, September Start

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Welling, Bexley. The role starts in September and offers a long‑term, potentially permanent position supporting pupils across all primary year groups.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Deliver planned lessons when the class teacher is absent.
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs, promoting progress and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers and the wider school team to monitor and enhance pupil outcomes.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a UK primary school.
• HLTA qualification desirable or equivalent experience.
• Confident leading whole‑class learning when required.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Flexible, proactive and able to work across all primary year groups.
