Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full‑Time

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Barking and Dagenham is looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its inclusive team. This full‑time position offers the chance to support teaching and learning across early years and key stages, deliver targeted interventions and provide classroom cover when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions for pupils who need additional help.
• Provide classroom cover in the absence of the class teacher.
• Assist with planning and delivering learning activities.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and senior leaders.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
• Strong communication, organisational and behaviour‑management skills.
